Wildsau Staffel - a spectacular skitouring competition in the Tyrol

The 14th International Wildsau Staffel of Kühtai Sellraintal takes place on the 11th of March 2012. This spectacular competition will be attracting numerous of extreme sportsmen and women again.

high alpine relay for teams of four, consisting of two uphill (ski) climbers and two downhill skiers

Every year in March, athletes from all over the world gather in the back of the Sellrain Valley.
Equipped with touring skis or snowboards, those teams of four "conquer" the off-piste slopes
of Praxmar-Lüsens.

Starting point for the mass start of first climbers is Praxmar (1685m/5528ft). Via Schönbichl,
the route leads up to the wind gap beneath Lampsenspitze peak (2800m/9186ft, altitude
difference 1115m/3658ft). The first downhill skiers take over here, skiing dowon to the
starting point. The wind gap beneath Zischgelesgipfel peak (2880m/9448ft, altitude difference
1195m/3920ft) is the goal of the second climbers. The second downhill skiers deliver the
relay ribbon to the finishing line at the parking lot in Praxmar.
